For friends we haven’t yet met, we are snuggled in the majestic rift valley of Hinchinbrook, North Queensland, in the townlet of Long Pocket. An amazing place of natural beauty and green green fields. Nothing beats sitting on our veranda with a cold drink, looking out over our cane fields rolling out towards the stunning mountains as the afternoon breezes tumble in from the sea beyond.

We are an Australian company which chooses only to offer Australian owned beers and Australian made wines. We also sell spirits and liqueurs made in our own distillery, as well as those produced in Australia and further abroad. We specialise in smoked meats.

We do not allow food or alcohol BYO.

We are not a standard hotel. If stunning scenery enjoyed with mouthwatering food and beverages isn’t the experience you are after, if you can’t live without Japanese owned XXXX or Great Northern, if you prefer daggy country pubs, or seedy pokie machines, then I’m sorry but we are just not right for you.

Sport Games: Many have let me know that they are passionate about sport and it’s fantastic to watch it at the pub. We hear you. We definitely roll out the big screen for important sport games! We are not a sports bar so you’ll never see sport on all the time but for the big games, hell yeah.

Turon is a first-generation family-run winery located in the Lenswood subregion of the Adelaide Hills. They are committed to minimal intervention and sustainable practices, producing vegan-friendly wines that showcase the natural characteristics of our terroir. Turon custom-built their small-batch winery to help focus on crafting elegant, complex wines that reflect the best of the cool-climate region. They are currently growing grapes and planting vineyards on our property with biodynamic and organic principles, ensuring our wines are as environmentally conscious as they are enjoyable. TASTING NOTES: Brilliant platinum with green hues. Lifted guava, honeysuckle and crunchy pear. A long textural and mineral finish.

Sauvignon Blanc

Cork Cutters Benign Neglect Sauvignon Blanc, Adelaide Hills. Cork Cutters performs the traditional (Old World) roll of Wine Negociant to provide exceptional value wines, matched to the best vineyards. We have one rule when it comes to the vines and winemaking, Benign Neglect. Less is more. Less fertilizers, less pesticides and less intervention. WINEMAKING: Sauvignon blanc grapes were harvested in the cool of night and delivered directly to the winery. The sauvignon blanc grapes were immediately crushed, destemmed and pressed to stainless steel tanks to retain freshness. After ferment the wine was left on fine lees for 3 months to build texture then racked. TASTING NOTES: Brilliant platinum with green hues. Kaffir lime, green apple skin, gooseberry, nettle leaf and lemon thyme. Clean, crisp and fresh. Finger lime, lemongrass and guava. A long textural and mineral finish.

Grenache

Tomfoolery Young Blood Grenache. Inspired by the new wave ‘Vino Joven’ wines of the old world, Young Blood Grenache is released as a cheeky youngster with just a brief barrel maturation to showcase structure and varietal character, while retaining freshness and finesse. The fruit is open fermented utilising native yeasts, with 30% whole bunch in the mix. After 7 days maceration post-ferment, the wine is gently basket pressed and racked to stainless vats (50%) and old French oak hogsheads (50%) for 6 months maturation. Pure, uncomplicated enjoyment.

Pinot Noir

Port Phillip Estate Quartier Pinot Noir. The wine reveals a medley of aromas, red fruits take the lead, with crushed strawberries, cranberry, and pomegranate offering a vibrant introduction. Subtle hints of green spice and earthy undertones add depth, complemented by a delicate touch of toasted oak that rounds out the bouquet. The palate showcases a delightful spectrum of red fruit flavours, unfolding with a soft and juicy texture. Secondary notes of leafy herbs and spices lend complexity and depth. Silky tannins impart a velvety smoothness, while a bright acidity carries through to a refreshing and elegant finish.
